Terms and conditions

These terms govern your use of this website and every order placed through it. They cover eligibility, how a contract is formed, pricing and payment, delivery, title and risk, cancellation, liability, and how disputes are handled.

Read before ordering

These terms incorporate our research use only policy, refund and returns policy and privacy policy. Placing an order means you accept all four. Please read the research use only policy in particular, because it restricts what the material may be used for.

  • Laboratory research use only, without exception
  • Buyers must be 18 or over
  • We may refuse or cancel any order before dispatch

Contract on dispatch

Your order is an offer. A contract forms only when we confirm dispatch.

Prices and VAT

Prices are in pounds sterling. Any VAT and delivery are shown before you pay.

UK delivery

Tracked delivery within the United Kingdom, dispatched from our facility.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

1. About us and these terms

NH Peptides supplies lyophilised research peptides and small molecule research compounds to qualified researchers and purchasing institutions in the United Kingdom. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean NH Peptides, and “you” means the person or organisation placing an order or using this website.

These terms apply to your use of nhpeptides.co.uk and to every contract for the sale of material through it. Please read them before you order. By placing an order you confirm that you accept these terms and the following, which form part of them:

If you do not accept these terms, do not place an order. Where anything in these terms conflicts with the research use only policy, that policy takes precedence.

Our contact details are in section 18.

2. Research use only

All material we supply is sold strictly as reference material for laboratory research use only. Nothing listed on this website is a medicinal product, and nothing holds a marketing authorisation from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.

Material supplied by us is not for human or veterinary consumption, and is not for diagnostic, therapeutic, food or cosmetic use. Administering it to any human or animal, by any route and in any quantity, is prohibited.

The full restrictions, the confirmations you give when you order, and the uses that are prohibited without exception are set out in our research use only policy. That policy forms part of these terms and you should read it in full before ordering.

3. Eligibility to order

This website is not an offer to supply to the general public. To order you must be aged 18 or over and must be a qualified researcher, or purchasing on behalf of a research institution, laboratory, university or business.

When you place an order you confirm that you meet these conditions, that the information you have given us is accurate, and that you accept the undertakings in section 3 of our research use only policy.

We may ask for evidence of eligibility before accepting an order, and we may hold an order until that evidence is provided. We are entitled to rely on the confirmations you give us. Giving false information does not transfer to us any responsibility arising from your use of the material.

4. Your account

You may need an account to place an order. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity carried out through your account.

Tell us as soon as possible if you believe someone else has used or may use your account. You must give accurate details when you register and keep them up to date, particularly your delivery address and contact email.

We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, where the eligibility conditions are not met, or where the account has been used in connection with fraud.

5. How a contract is formed

Product listings on this website are an invitation to treat, not an offer to sell. Placing an order is an offer by you to buy on these terms.

  1. You place your order and are shown an order summary before you pay. Check it carefully. You can correct input errors at any point before you confirm.
  2. We send an order acknowledgement by email. This confirms we have received your order. It is not acceptance of it.
  3. A contract is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation. Any items in the same order that are not covered by that confirmation are not yet part of the contract.

If we cannot accept your order, we will tell you and refund any payment taken in full. Reasons include unavailability of stock, a lot failing release testing, an error in the price or description, a failure to meet the eligibility conditions, or any of the grounds in section 8 of our research use only policy.

Each order is given a reference number. Please quote it when you contact us.

6. Material and documentation

Every lot is analysed before release and is supplied with a certificate of analysis published against its lot number. Analytical figures relate to the specific lot they are published against.

Images on this website are illustrative. Vial appearance, label layout and packaging may vary between lots. Where a listing shows a labelled quantity, that is the quantity stated on the vial label for that lot.

We may change specifications, packaging or presentation where required by law or where the change does not materially affect the material supplied. Where a change is material, we will tell you before dispatch and you may cancel.

Product descriptions identify what a compound is and the field in which it is studied. They are not claims of any effect in a human or animal. See section 6 of our research use only policy.

7. Prices, VAT and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Where prices are displayed excluding VAT, any VAT that applies is calculated and shown at checkout, together with the delivery charge, before you confirm payment. The total shown at checkout is the total you pay.

The price that applies is the one displayed when you place your order. If the price of an item changes after you have ordered but before we have accepted it, we will honour the price you were shown.

Errors in pricing or description do happen. Where an error is obvious and you could reasonably have recognised it as an error, we may cancel the order, tell you, and refund you in full. We are not obliged to supply at an incorrect price.

Payment is taken at the point of order using the methods shown at checkout. We do not store your card details. If payment is not authorised, or is later reversed or charged back, we may cancel the order and withhold dispatch.

Where we have agreed payment terms with a business customer, invoices are payable within the agreed period. We may charge statutory interest and recovery costs on late commercial payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

8. Delivery

We deliver within the United Kingdom on a tracked service. Delivery charges, thresholds and options are shown at checkout.

Orders placed before 2pm on a working day are normally dispatched the same day. Dispatch and delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Where a delivery date is essential to you, tell us before you order so we can confirm whether we can meet it.

Material is dispatched in temperature stable, plainly labelled packaging. Compound names are not shown on the outer packaging and contents are declared on the enclosed documentation only.

You must give a delivery address where someone can receive the parcel. We are not responsible for a failed delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address, or by nobody being available to accept it. Where a parcel is returned to us for those reasons, section 10 of our refund and returns policy applies.

If delivery is delayed by an event outside our control, we will tell you as soon as we can and take steps to reduce the delay. Where the delay is substantial, you may cancel and receive a refund for material not delivered.

Late, missing and undelivered orders are dealt with in section 10 of our refund and returns policy.

9. Title and risk

Risk in the material passes to you when it is delivered to the address you gave us, or to a person you nominated to receive it.

Ownership passes to you when we have received payment in full.

Once risk has passed, you are responsible for storing and handling the material as set out in section 7 of our research use only policy and on the storage and handling sheet supplied with your order.

10. Cancellation, returns and refunds

Cancellation rights, returns and refunds are set out in full in our refund and returns policy, which forms part of these terms.

In summary, and subject to that policy:

  • Consumers have 14 days from delivery to cancel, subject to the sealed goods exception
  • Once the tamper evident seal on a vial has been broken, that vial cannot be returned for health protection reasons
  • Material that is damaged, faulty, not as described or incorrectly supplied is replaced or refunded in full, whether or not a seal has been broken
  • Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

11. Your obligations

By ordering from us you undertake that you will:

  • Use material supplied by us only for laboratory research, and only in a controlled laboratory environment
  • Not administer it, or permit it to be administered, to any human or animal
  • Not resell or resupply it to the general public, or to anyone you believe intends human or veterinary use
  • Not repackage, relabel or present it in a way that suggests it is fit for human or veterinary use
  • Handle, store and dispose of it lawfully and safely, and meet your health and safety obligations
  • Comply with all laws that apply to your work, including any controls specific to a particular compound

You are responsible for satisfying yourself that the material is suitable for your intended laboratory work before you order. We do not advise on suitability for a particular experiment or method.

12. Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your legal rights in relation to the material, and for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

Use outside laboratory research. We accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury or legal consequence arising from use of material supplied by us other than for laboratory research, including any prohibited use listed in our research use only policy, whether that use is by you or by anyone to whom you pass the material.

Business customers. Where you buy as a business, we exclude all implied terms, conditions and warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of anticipated savings, loss or corruption of data, or the cost of repeating or replacing research work. Our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the price paid for that order.

Consumers. We supply material for laboratory research only. We are not liable for business losses, and where you use material for any commercial or professional purpose we will have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.

13. Indemnity from business customers

Where you buy as a business, you agree to indemnify us against all claims, losses, damages, costs and expenses we incur arising from:

  • Your use of material supplied by us other than for laboratory research
  • Any resupply of material by you contrary to these terms or our research use only policy
  • Your failure to handle, store or dispose of material safely and lawfully
  • Any breach by you of the undertakings in section 11

This section does not apply where you buy as a consumer.

14. Refusing orders and ending supply

We may refuse or cancel any order at any point before dispatch, at our discretion, and will refund you in full where we do. The grounds on which we will refuse an order are set out in section 8 of our research use only policy.

We may also stop supplying you, close your account, and cancel any pending orders where you breach these terms, where you use or intend to use material contrary to our research use only policy, or where you give us information we reasonably believe to be false.

We may withdraw or amend this website, or any part of it, at any time. We may also stop selling any product at any time. Neither gives rise to any liability to you, beyond refunding orders we cannot fulfil.

15. Use of this website

The content of this website, including text, images, product descriptions, layout and documentation, belongs to us or is licensed to us. You may view and print it for your own internal research purposes. You may not reproduce, republish or use it commercially without our written permission.

You must not misuse this website, including by introducing malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorised access, scraping content, or placing orders by automated means.

We take reasonable care to keep the website and its content accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free. Technical information is provided in good faith for laboratory assessment purposes and does not replace your own verification.

Where we link to third party websites, those links are provided for convenience. We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for it.

16. Personal information

We use your personal information only as set out in our privacy policy, which explains what we collect, the lawful basis for each use, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you hold.

We keep records linking supplied lots to the purchaser so that material can be traced if an issue with a lot is identified. Retention periods for those records are set out in the privacy policy.

17. General terms

Changes to these terms. We may amend these terms. The version published on this page when you place your order is the version that applies to that order.

Events outside our control. We are not liable for failure or delay caused by an event beyond our reasonable control, including carrier failure, supply interruption, regulatory action and utility or network failure.

Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.

Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.

Delay is not waiver. If we do not insist that you perform an obligation, or delay in taking action against you, that does not prevent us from doing so later.

Third parties. These terms are between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce them.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.

Complaints. Contact us first using the details below and we will try to resolve matters. If we cannot, and you bought as a consumer, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution provider. Nothing prevents you from bringing court proceedings.

18. Contact us

To contact us about these terms, an order, or anything else:

Written correspondence can be sent to our business address, which we will provide on request.
